One week after Conan's departure from the 12:35a "Late Night" time slot a nervously cheery Jimmy Fallon steps in as the new host of "Late Night". Jimmy is in most peoples memory as "that guy" from SNL, and some no him as a no-luck movie actor, but with his new position as Mr. Late Night Jimmy might be able to follow in fellow SNL alum Conan O'Brien's shoes.
I saw last nights premier of
"Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and I have to say it was all right. I mean it wasn't the best but it was solid. Conan is my favorite late night host out there but even I remember the days when he (and sometimes the audience) suffered threw a show. Fallon will fall into stride eventually as did his predecessors: Conan O'Brien and David Letterman.
All in all the first show was a good watch (for 12:35). Fallon is lucky, with his house-band "The Roots" earning him extra points and some high profile stars on the show Jimmy might just make it... I guess for now only time will tell.
