Slippery Seattle Streets

Today there was some chaos in Seattle. My Mom lives less then five minutes away from where todays chaos happened and saw all of this while driving down I-5. Now I was born and raised in Seattle and in 25 years I never had a problem driving threw rain, snow, slush, or sleet, and I know the streets to avoid... but some people just have no clue (or luck). To give you an idea of the area, imagine a miniature version of SanFransisco and you have Seattle. Now what Californian in there right mind would drive down one of those steep S.F. hills on a snowy, icy day? Most Seattlites know better, but today two charter bus drivers in Seattle decided it would be a good idea to take a short-cut down one of Seattle's steep hills with a bus full of teens.
Looks like that didn't work...

"..."I'm right by the driver and he turns on this road that's too steep, and everyone is saying, 'don't go down. That road it's too steep. There's fish-tail tracks,"' said Tamera Vasquez. "And he still goes down, straight down."
"And we are like sliding down the hill, people are like 'whoaa...' People can see it coming. Next thing we know we slammed into the guard rail," said Stephanie Jackson.
By the time the first bus stopped, its front end and front wheels were dangling suspended about 30 feet above the freeway..."
"...And just as people began to flee, another bus came sliding down the road.
"He kind of wheeled it to the left a little bit, then the corner of the bus hit the other bus," said Zachary Blackburn..."

F-18 Crashes in San Diego Neighborhood

The pilot of the F/A-18D Hornet jet ejected safely just before the crash around noon at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Explosions rocked a neighborhood of half-million-dollar homes, sending flames and plumes of smoke skyward...
...The pilot, who ended up hanging by his parachute from a tree in a canyon beneath the neighborhood, was in stable condition at a naval hospital in San Diego, said Miramar spokeswoman 1st Lt. Katheryn Putnam. The pilot was returning from training on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln off the San Diego coast when the plane went down, she said.
Putnam had no details on a possible cause..." -Associated Press

iPod Touch 2G Touch-Thru Hard Case

-----------------------------------------------------------
I have been waiting for a hard case for my iTouch 2G and for a long time there was nothing. Companies like IvySkin and Case-Mate have been making these hard "Touch-Thru" cases for the iPhone and the early model iTouch (1G). Now IvySkin is making the "Retro 2G Touch-Thru" which seems to be the first iTouch 2G hard case to hit the market. The Retro 2G will be released on the 24th... Today I placed my order.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien Gives Away 6000 John McCain Action Figures... Wow!

We posted info about these little political replicons a few months ago. I guess now that Barack has won there is no more need for little McCains. Here is a snip-it from the NBC Blog, The Late Night Insider:
"For those of you who watched the show last night (which should be ALL OF YOU, party people), you saw Conan give every member of our esteemed studio audience a clear garbage bag of 30 (yes 30) John McCain dolls! The dolls were sent to us by the company that made them, and they were the last 6000 dolls left in stock. The "McCain Surplus", as it were. I guess the company figured that now that the election is over, no one would want a 'Lil Maverick of their own - and I'm sure they're right! Anyway, for some ungodly reason, they sent all 6000 left to us... And for some OTHER ungodly reason, WE gave them all to last night's audience! So, 6:30pm came and went, and everyone who attended last night's taping was given a gigantic bag of McCains and sent out into the brisk November New York City night. Coolio."

Little Big Planet is Here!

I also picked up the Game Guide, a Nariko Costume Code, and a Kratos/Medusa/Minotaur Costume Code... I'm ready to go.

Unfortunately there was a recall on the game so there is no on-line or downloadable costumes yet. However I got a chance to play the beta a few weeks ago, and I have to say "Wow!". This game is awesome. Its simple and easy to understand... this is great because now there is a game you can enjoy with everyone from your little brother to your wife.
The best part is you can make your own levels and then let your friends and family explore them. I tried making a level on the beta, and the possibilities seem endless. Some of the best levels I played were user levels. Obviously there will be better levels on the full version, but those user levels rocked! I can't wait to see more!
Contest:
I have a few extra codes for the K/M/M Costume so send in some cool art that you made for LBP and I'll send the top three a code.
GOOD LUCK!

This is the upcoming "WeekOne" costume! It looks awesome!
